    Description

A vintage early BENNINGTON POTTERS tan brown trigger handle Coffee / Tea Pot 1399 and Creamer 1326a  David Gil
This listing is for an early Bennington Matte tan brown trigger handle coffe/tea pot #1399 and creamer #1326a designed by David Gil.
The creamer in excellent overall condition. Very clean, smooth and solid brown, inside and out.  No chips or cracks. Expect minor imperfections in the pottery due to the handmade nature. Approx 3.75" high x 3-1/8" wide on bottom, 2-5/8” " wide on top without spout. 4.5" long spout to handle. It holds approx. 8 oz. The marks on the underside are of a somewhat more recent vintage.
The hard-to-find tea/coffee pot unfortunately seems to have been placed too hard down on a surface and there is a tight spider hairline crack on the underside. I filled it with water in it to measure capacity and decided to leave it in there to see if there was any seepage. I let it sit on a piece of paper overnight and in the AM there was no evidence of seepage on the paper. So it does seem it could still be usable but I would recommend doing so with caution. Certainly it's fine for display purposes. Or if you need a lid to your existing perfect base, here you go. The pot measures about 6" tall x 8" spout to handle and holds 2 cups of liquid. The marks on the bottom are the early David Gil co-op marks.
The set will weigh about 4-5 lbs packed safely. I have other Bennington listed separately and will combine shipping.
