Description:
Hummer VII is a discontinued model.  The current model is Hummer 6.2.
It was designed as system for uniformly coating specimens for SEM.  This involves a cold process in which ions impacting a metal source dislodge metal atoms, causing the atoms to disperse throughout the process chamber to uniformly coat irregularly shaped specimens without any thermal damage.
The Hummer VII was developed as a convenient and efficient method of coating specimens for SEM. Using the sputter coating technique, specimens of all types can be coated uniformly. A cold process in which ions impacting a metal source dislodge metal atoms. The atoms disperse throughout the process chamber to uniformly coat irregularly shaped specimens without thermal damage. Sputter coating produces a high-quality coatings whose thickness is repeatable and easily controlled.
