BENNINGTON POTTERY FLINT / ROCKINGHAM GLAZE PARROT BIRD 5" BEER STEIN / MUG 1890's
This is in Excellent Condition with No Chips No Cracks NOTE: There is natural crazing throughout. Very Nice Bennington Pottery Beer Stein. Crafted circa 1890's, this features a raised parrot style around the body in brown with a fence and leaf style behind it and a glazed finish.
Bennington was a convenient location for producing redware pottery because of the close proximity to local clay deposits, as well as deposits along the Hudson River. Bennington also had an abundant supply of waterpower from local streams, which was necessary to power the machinery used at the time.
This measures 5" High x 3 3/8" Wide rim to rim.
