Offered by Over The Blue Horizon is a very nice issue from the well-regarded, vintage, and long out-of-print English Warpaint Series: Issue 19 on the “DE HAVILLAND HORNET AND SEA HORNET”  by Tony Butler.
Anyone familiar with the Warpaint series of profiles on aircraft subjects will easily recognize the layout and coverage of the subject in this well-done publication and, as usual, this publication comes well printed on quality paper with many color profile illustrations of the De Havilland Hornet and Sea Hornet.  Generally regarded as one of the most beautiful aircraft ever designed, this evolution of the Mosquito was introduced too late to see service in World War II but served until the mid-1950s.  All Marks of these two aircraft are covered, and a very informative text deals with the history, development, service and manufacture.  Aviation historians and aircraft modelers will find the well-selected and detailed photographs very helpful, and the 1/72 scale plans are second to none. Also included are well-executed camouflage drawings; squadron and units; Ground Instructional Airframes; and comprehensive specifications.
